Some month ago I’ve included 10 Corso Como in the list of my 10 favourites in Milan (see the post here https://mygypsyworld.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/milan-my-10-favourites-10-cose-che-amo-di-milano/).
I’m so in love with this “concept shop” (as it was defined by the Sociologist Francesco Morace) that I could include it into my 10 favourites all over the world.
Top 10 and 10 again into its name, maybe there’s some kind of pre-destination in that 🙂
Qualche mese fa avevo incluso 10 Corso Como nella lista delle mie 10 cose preferite di Milano (vedi il post qui https://mygypsyworld.wordpress.com/2014/12/16/milan-my-10-favourites-10-cose-che-amo-di-milano/).
Adoro così tanto questo “concept shop” (come e’ stato definito dal Sociologo Francesco Morace) che lo potrei includere fra i miei 10 favoriti in tutto il mondo.

The Galleria is gradually joined by a Bookshop and a garden cafè.
A year later, 10 Corso Como opens its doors. Named after the street address, the industrial building is designed by American artist Kris Ruhs who also creates the black and white logo that is, by now, an icon of global style.
After the first concept in Milan, also opens Seoul, Shangai and Beijing.
Nel Settembre 1990, Carla Sozzani, fashion editor ed editore, apre in un garage riconvertito, al 10 di Corso Como, la Galleria Carla Sozzani per fotografia, arte e design.
Alla Galleria si sono aggiunti una libreria ed un caffè con giardino.
Un anno dopo, apre 10 Corso Como. Prende il nome dal suo indirizzo, l’edificio industriale e’ progettato dall’artista Americano Kris Rush che ha creato anche il famoso logo in bianco e nero che, oggi, e’ un’icona globale di stile.
Al primo concept a Milano, si sono aggiunti Seoul, Shangai e Beijing.
10 Corso Como promotes slow shopping through a succession of spaces and events that reflect lifestyle over object acquisition. So, at 10 Corso Como you may enjoy fashion, food, art, design and photography all in the same place.
When I’m in Milan and I say “I need to go at Corso Como”, first of all it’s a real need (for my body: fashion and food, for my mind: bookshop and fashion again, for my soul: temporary exhibitions…and fashion again) and I can only mean 10 Corso Como not the entire street.
10 Corso Como promuove uno “slow shopping” attraverso una successione di spazi ed eventi che riflette di più uno stile di vita che una semplice acquisizione di oggetti. Così, da 10 Corso Como puoi godere di fashion, cibo, arte, design, fotografia, tutto nello stesso posto.
Quando sono a Milano e dico “Ho bisogno di andare da Corso Como”, prima di tutto e’ un bisogno vero (per il mio corpo: fashion e cibo, per la mia mente: libreria ed ancora fashion, per la mia anima: mostre temporanee…e si, ancora fashion) e poi non intendo tutto il Corso, ma solo il 10.
I love the branding that you can see everywhere and mostly the cute paper boxes with the bow.
Mi piace il branding che si può vedere ovunque ma soprattutto le deliziose scatole con il fiocco.
I love the clothes and accessories disposition, nothing common, nothing random, all studied in every detail.
Mi piace la disposizione di vestiti ed accessori, niente di scontato, niente di casuale, tutto studiato in ogni dettaglio.
I love the irony in the arrangenent (the clothes surrounded by the gravestones with engraved “The End”) because fashion is fun…so don’t take it too seriously, just play with it!!!
Mi piace l’ironia nella disposizione (ad esempio i vestiti circondati da lapidi con scritto “The End” – La Fine) perché la moda e’ divertimento…quindi non prendetela troppo sul serio, giocateci!!!
I love the clothes itselves, some of them are real artworks, absolutely breathtaking.

I love the bookshop and I wasn’t flying with the handluggage only, I would have taken all the fashion books.

I love all of the above, but I think that what I do love in top of everything are the lights.
I think that the lighting is designed in a way that the clothes stand out in a stunning way.
The pictures that I take here are always included in my best ones. Here below there are also some of the ones that I’ve shooted during last Christmas that I think are amazing.
Mi piacciono tutte le cose elencate sopra, ma credo che la mia preferita siano le luci.
L’illuminazione e’ studiata in modo tale da far risaltare gli abiti in modo eccezionale.

There are two exhibitions ongoing now and both will be closing on the 6th April. First one is Cinzia Ruggeri “CIN CIN”, this artist is suspended between fashion, art, design and architecture. Surreal artworks that mix furniture, clothes and accessories.
Ci sono due mostre in corso ed entrambe chiuderanno il 6 Aprile. La prima e’ “CIN CIN” di Cinzia Ruggeri, artista sospesa fra fashion, arte, design ed architettura. Le sue opere surreali mixano mobili, vestiti ed accessori.
The second one, my favourite, but you know I’m so into photography, is Arthur Elgort “The Big Picture”.
He’s one of the photographers that changed the fashion photography. He introduced freely moving models, natural lights and a reportage influence.
Amazing his shots in which he just “seize the moment”.
La seconda, mia preferita, ma si sa che adoro la fotografia, e’ “The Big Picture” di Arthur Elgort.
Lui e’ uno dei fotografi che hanno cambiato la fotografia di moda. Ha introdotto le modelle libere di muoversi, la luce naturale e le influenze degli scatti di reportage.
Spettacolari gli scatti in cui “coglie l’attimo”.
If you’re in Milan, if you’re planning to go, please consider my advice and reserve at least one hour to visit this concept shop…maybe two hours if you would like to enjoy a nice italian “Spritz” as I did!
Se siete a Milano, o se state pensando di andarci, seguite il mio consiglio e riservatevi almeno un’ora per visitare questo concept shop…magari due se vi volete godere uno Spritz come ho fatto io!
